This time of year always feels like a deep breath, doesn’t it? The hustle of the last twelve months starts to settle, and suddenly there’s space to reflect. I often think about the moments that mattered most—the ones that tested us, stretched us, and ultimately defined the year.
For me, 2024 has been a year of stories. Stories of leaders stepping into uncertainty with courage, of teams finding their stride in the midst of transformation, and of individuals choosing growth even when it was the harder path.
Let me share one of these stories with you.
A Story of Change and Courage
Earlier this year, I worked with a leadership team navigating a major transformation. On paper, their challenges were strategic: a new operating model, ambitious targets, and tight timelines. But in reality, the heart of their challenge was human.
The team struggled with doubt. Could they bring people along on this journey? Would their decisions hold up under scrutiny? Could they sustain their energy when the road got rough?
What happened next was inspiring. By focusing on clarity, connection, and consistent support, this team began to shift. They leaned into honest conversations, celebrated small wins, and rallied around a shared vision. And slowly but surely, they created momentum—not just for the business, but for themselves as leaders.
Watching their transformation reminded me of something I deeply believe: change is where we grow, not in spite of the challenges, but because of them.
The Lessons of 2024
As I look back, I see these lessons echoing across the year:
Courage starts with clarity. When we take the time to understand where we’re going and why, we unlock the confidence to act.
Small wins matter. Progress isn’t always about giant leaps; it’s often about micro steps and celebrating along the way.
We’re better together. Change leadership isn’t a solo sport—it’s built on trust, collaboration, and shared effort.
These lessons aren’t just for organisations. They’re for all of us, in every part of life.

As we step into 2025, I’m excited to share tools and resources to help you navigate whatever changes come your way. One I’m working on at the moment is a new Change Framework, designed to make leading change simpler and more impactful for yourself/ families, teams and organisations.
And that’s just the beginning. The 2025 Change Leadership Playbook is also on its way, packed with practical insights to help you lead with confidence. And a new on-demand Lead Change like a Boss training series is in it’s final stages ready to come out early in the new year.
But most of all, I look forward to the stories we’ll write together in 2025. Stories of resilience, growth, and impact.
